MYrug is a design inspired by a mandala, created by British designer Michael Young under the art direction of Richard Hutten. Michael Young is an industrial designer and creative director based in Hong Kong. He works in the fields of product, furniture, and interior design, with studios in Hong Kong and Brussels. He is known for his unconventional use of materials and production processes, which have earned him numerous design awards.
MYrug is a 100% woolen designer rug with a pile length ranging from 10 to as much as 120 mm. The center of the rug features a short loop pile with a cut pattern, gradually rising in height towards the edges, which have 120 mm shaggy fringes. The detailing in the rug is inspired by Tibetan prayer wheels.
The green yarn is made from leftover cloth from our Dutch partners in the collective Future Factory Furniture. A perfect symbiosis between high-end design and sustainable thinking!
MYrug is part of the presentation of the Future>Factory>Furniture group at Masterly, Nicole Uniquole’s successful initiative ‘The Dutch in Milano’. MYrug literally gives platform to the iconic chairs the F>F>F> group members* showcase with the circular fabric ‘stof tot nadenken’. The collective draws attention to the challenges the interior and furniture industry faces. For the Milan presentation, the MYrug little rugs are made with the circular yarn coming from upholstery residue from all the partners. A must-see presentation at the entrance of the beautiful building at Palazzo Giureconsulti.

3 Design Options: MYrug comes in three shapes: a circle, a square, and a rectangle with rounded corners. All variants have that same appearance of a thick and fluffy rug. It is a real eye-catcher.
