Magis invited us to design outdoor furniture with a smile on its face, and we took that brief entirely literally. The Yogi Family was our response: a sofa, chair and table that are immediately, unapologetically cartoonish. The name came from the morphology of the seat itself, which places the sitter in something close to a cross-legged yoga posture. At first glance the pieces look like children's furniture, and that is entirely deliberate. They sit very low to the ground so that children can climb onto them with ease, while adults find themselves in a position that makes it impossible to take themselves too seriously. Yogi places you in a vaguely humorous predicament and forces you to relax. The collection is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and was produced in a range of colours, bringing a warmth and irreverence to spaces that more considered outdoor furniture rarely achieves.
