The Tree was designed in collaboration with Katrin Olina and first presented at 100% Design in London in 2001, before being taken into production by Swedese in 2003. The silhouette does exactly what the name suggests, evoking a stylised tree whose branches serve as coat hooks, bringing a quiet poetry to an entirely functional object. Made from lacquered MDF with a weighted steel base for stability, it is available in both floor standing and wall mounted versions, and in a range of finishes including white, black, oak veneer and a selection of colours. It has since become one of the most enduring pieces in the Swedese catalogue and a recognised icon of Scandinavian design.
