The Noisezero i+ Eco was our first collaboration with EOps and the first cornstarch earbud on the market. Working with the New York music technology brand, we used eco-friendly cornstarch bio-plastics for the acoustic chamber and microphone housing, a material that had never previously been used in earphone production. The choice was not purely ecological: by building the acoustic chamber from cornstarch bio-plastics we found that a natural, balanced mid tone was achieved. The horn-shaped chamber optimises treble performance, and the large bass reflect port at the rear provides strong bass. The form factor was designed specifically for ease of positioning and passive noise isolation, the user inserting the silicone tips and rotating 90 degrees to achieve a good acoustic seal. The three-button remote and microphone module on the cable is Apple-approved, controlling playback and volume for iPhone, iPad and iPod. The Noisezero i+ Eco launched exclusively through Colette in Paris and came in four colours: charcoal, rustic brown, midnight blue and sage green.
