The i24R3 Portable was unveiled at 100% Design Tokyo in 2009 as a fully sealed, waterproof extension of the i24R3 project. Rather than a single product, the Portable was conceived as a platform: a circular core speaker surrounded by a family of functional configurations suited to different user lifestyles. A sealed sound chamber houses lightweight flat panel speaker exciters and passive radiators to produce high quality sound, powered by a built-in lithium polymer rechargeable battery or AC adapter. It is both fully waterproof and wireless, available in USB or Bluetooth versions, and equally suited to indoor and outdoor use.
